A major milestone is being celebrated in the real estate world as new data confirms that over half of all Hispanic Americans are now homeowners!
According to the National Association of Realtors®, the ownership rate among Hispanic Americans rose by 4%, meaning almost 3 million more Latinos owned a house in 2021 than in 2011.
Additional data provided by Freddie Mac also suggests that this trend is just getting started, and there is optimism ahead as they estimate as much as 56% of all new home buyers will be Latino by 2030.
We’ve seen this uptick in Latino homebuyers ourselves. GCB has a dedicated team of Spanish-speaking lenders who have been proud to help many Hispanic families buy their very first (or second or third) home.
Can we tie this section back to GCB in a more personal? “We have Spanish-speaking lenders…” See above.
Factors Behind the Record Numbers
The boost in numbers comes largely due to the number of Hispanic Americans continuing to grow, meaning more and more potential buyers are reaching their prime earning years.
Also, the studies show dramatic increases in education levels among Hispanic Americans, resulting in a 12% increase in income levels according to the US Census Bureau.
Expanding populations and improved educational opportunities are a great recipe for homeownership!
